STRAIGHT LINES, RAW MATERIALS, VISUAL RELATIONSHIPS AND SUNLIGHT CHARACTERIZE THE SPACES OF THIS SINGLE FAMILY HOME IN GRADO/ITALY.

For this project we provided the architectural and landscape design for the transformation of a traditional 1950's home into a modern minimalistic domicile overlooking the beach. A mix of insights and views defines the straight-lined architecture of this home that consists of a large living area with "soppalco" on the upper floor and two bedrooms with separate bathrooms and lounge area on the ground floor. All of them connected by courtyards that provide privacy from the street and create openness. Basic materials like raw concrete and wood combined with fine Italian craftsmanship were used. Influences from our travels to California are unmistakable and were requested by the client right from the beginning of the project.
